In WELCOME HOME at NADA Miami (2024) Marine Corps veteran Kevin Sparkowich presents his exploration of the social formation of masculinity through painting and sculpture. In the solo debut curated for the artist’s TD CURATED SPOTLIGHT, Sparkowich honors the contemporary warrior’s return to civilian life and reflects on the obsolescence of the imperial hero. After serving in the Middle East (CENTCOM) Sparkowich benefitted from the post-9/11 GI Bill to passionately take up the formal study of art.
